Bunnies for Sale

**Sales Policy**

Before Reserving a Rabbit!

An Angora rabbit is a commitment that has the potential to last for up to ten years.   Carefully consider whether you can commit to the rabbit for it's whole life span.  Also you must have a strong interest in working with the fiber, or this kind of rabbit is not for you.  They require more care, attention, and skill than the average pet.  That said, they are wonderful, charming animals that make great pets for spinners and fiber artists.   The extra effort required is rewarded tenfold.

Reservations and Waiting Lists    I will usually put a litter up for reservation by two weeks of age.   The first people to get back to me  (people who have been waiting longest will be given a three day grace period within which to respond in order to retain their place in line)  will then be first on the waiting list for that litter.  They will be first to choose (when the kits are old enough) from the available rabbits in the litter.     Once you contact me, your  place in line  will be retained for two weeks during which time I must receive a $50 deposit and a signed copy of Harvest Moon Sales Policy Agreement.  100% of the deposit will go towards purchase of the Angora.  After receipt of deposit, I will post on my website Reserved for ___ pending deposit under your reserved bunny.    If I don't receive the deposit within the two weeks, then your spot is given to the next person on the waiting list.   When I receive the deposit, a rabbit will then be on hold in your name. Reserved for ___.   The deposit is required to show serious intention.     The deposit per rabbit is NON-refundable after the pick up date.    It is the purchasers responsibility to arrange timely transport.   If you don't arrange to pick up the rabbit within two weeks of the rabbit being ready and reserved, I will start charging for feed and care out of the deposit or put the rabbit back up available for sale.  I do reserve the right to decide not to sell a reserved animal.  In this instance, the deposit is fully refundable or transferrable to another comparable rabbit.   Hybrid and Purebred kits will usually be ready to go to their new homes between eight and twelve weeks.   I will sometimes want to reserve the litter or a couple of kits a little longer to decide on my pick.   I name the kits in purebred litters, but leave the naming of most hybrids up to his/her  new family.

Angora Care-Air Shipping  Standard procedure for obtaining any animal is that ultimately, transportation is the responsibility of the purchaser.   I may be willing to ship rabbits weather permitting, but I live a two hours drive away from the nearest major airport.   Air-Shipping will include my travel expense to the airport and back.       If there are any extra costs incurred (e.g.  airline fees for shipping, carriers, carryon of pets, or extra gas expenses, etc.), the purchaser is responsible for a non refundable pre-payment which I will use the to make the shipping arrangements.     It costs over $175 to pay airline fees.  It costs me about $50 in gas to drive to Portland, plus four hours of time.   Vet certificates of health cost between $45 and $60 depending on the number of rabbits certified.  Then the crate has to be purchased as well.  The purchaser can work out the details with me through e-mail or the phone. If I am not contacted before getting on the road, no-shows forfeit their chosen rabbit, and transportation expenses/deposits.   If there is a significant delay between release date, and actual pick-up of a reserved rabbit, a room and board fee may apply ($2.50/week).   I will not charge room and board for rabbits under three months old.

TransportFinding, arranging, and paying for transport of the animal within a reasonable amount of time is the purchaser's responsibility.   At time if deposit, make arrangements with me on an individual basis to pick up your rabbit from Cottage Grove or Eugene Oregon.   I travel to both towns regularly.  On occasion, I travel up to the Portland area and can meet the new owner at a prearranged time and destination.  Meeting along a major highway works well.   Some fees ($.30/mile) will apply to offset my traveling expenses if I drive out of my way.   I am sometimes making trips anyway (sometimes out of state), but this is not to be counted on.   Otherwise, I have had good luck shipping bunnies with show people driving up and down the I-5 corridor.   They generally charge the purchaser $20-$25 for transport.   Beats driving or air shipping.   I require a 50% deposit that clears the bank before I send the rabbit off.  Then after I receive the rest of the payment, I will then send off the pedigree.   I do not charge holding fees for rabbits under three months old.  Once over three months, the males and females need to be separated, and the males sometimes individually.  If the rabbit is not picked up within two weeks of the pickup date, the rest of the deposit starts paying for food and lodging ($2.50/week per rabbit).    It is in your best interest to be sure that you are able and willing to pick up the rabbit in a timely manner.   Unless other arrangements are made, two weeks after the pickup date, the rabbit goes up for sale again.

Guarantee  If you are ever in doubt,  please ask questions.  Every rabbits is guaranteed  to be in good health when leaving my care.   If a health problem becomes apparent within one week, I will replace the animal if it's illness/death was not caused by accident or negligence.   Negligence includes, but is not limited to:  improper feeding, hygiene, or housing, unprotected exposure to cold or heat, dehydration, exposure to harassment by other animals or children, allowing animal to roam house (cord or carpet chewing) or yard (rabbits don't even have to be attacked by a predator, they have been known to die just from fright) without direct adult supervision, etc.  If you have a concern about one of my rabbits, please contact me as soon as possible.   I will gladly be available to help you find the answer to any questions or concerns you may have regarding angora care.

*I will take any rabbit back into my care at any time (no problem).  I would be happy to care for it while searching for it's new home.*

I have read and understand the above, and wish to see what is...                           AVAILABLE

Hi Carrie:
I just wanted to keep in touch and let you know how the buns are doing that I adopted from you last summer.  They are really spunky and beautiful.  I was wrong about the bucks being more docile (in this instance anyway).  Of course, I suppose things can change, but for now, guess who is the sweetheart on the grooming table?  Yes, the female.  It's totally amazing how tolerant and patient she is.  They both got haircuts about 2 weeks ago, and they did really well.  She even let me trim under her chin (the giant tuft on her chest area) without a care in the world.  The male still has one lop ear and it's a good thing so I can tell them apart.  Also, they just don't matt at all, their wool is so thick and immaculate.  They are both of excellent temperment, so I thought you'd want to know how they turned out.
Hope you're doing well.
Jane
Carrie,
Thank you so much for keeping good records and sending me the pedigree and my check.  I just love her layed back personality she is sooo sweet!   Thank you again and I look forward to seeing you the end of this month.

Hi Carrie,
Just want to let you know that the doe is a sweetheart and is settling in well. When I open the cage she comes over to the door to be petted. She's eating and drinking fine. She ate a ton more hay last night than my EAs and SAs eat. I put in a pretty big handful in the evening and most of it was gone this morning.
Thanks again for such a wonderful rabbit!
Cheers,
-Kyle
