| Reservations and Waiting Lists
Contact lists for litters are ongoing. I
will start making a list as soon as the litter is
announced on my Bunnies for Sale page. I will
usually put a litter up for reservation by two weeks of
age. The first people
to get back to me (people who have been waiting
longest will be given a three day grace period within
which to respond in order to retain their place in line) will then be first on the waiting list for that
litter. They will be first to choose (when the kits are
old enough) from the available
rabbits in the litter. Once you contact me, your
place in line will be retained for two weeks during which time I must
receive a 50% deposit. I will post on my website

If I don't receive the deposit within the two weeks,
then your spot is given to the next person on
the waiting list. When I receive the deposit, a rabbit will
then be on hold in your name.
The deposit is required to show serious
intention. I will only cash the check when
the deposit holder is committed to a specific
rabbit. The deposit is refundable.
If you change your mind
I will either return the check, hold it for a future
litter, or tear it up as you
prefer. (Separate
rules apply to shipping... see below) I do reserve
the right to change my mind and refund a deposit and
refuse sale on any reservation. Hybrid and Purebred kits
will usually be ready to go to their new homes between
eight and twelve weeks.
I will sometimes want to reserve the litter or a couple
of kits a little longer
to decide on my pick. I name the kits in
purebred litters, but leave the naming of most hybrids up to
his/her new family. Angora Care-
An Angora rabbit is a
commitment that has the potential to last for up to ten
years. Carefully consider whether you can
commit to the rabbit for it's whole life span.
Also you must have a strong interest in working with the
fiber, or this kind of rabbit is not for you. They
require more care, attention, and skill than the average
pet.
That said, they are wonderful, charming animals that
make great pets for spinners and fiber artists.
The extra effort required is rewarded tenfold.
Air Shipping Standard procedure
for obtaining any animal is that ultimately,
transportation is the responsibility of the purchaser. I may be
willing to ship rabbits weather permitting, but I live a two hours
drive away from
the nearest major airport. Air-Shipping will
include my travel expense to the airport and back.
Otherwise, I will make
arrangements on an individual basis for you to pick up
your rabbit from the Harvest Moon Rabbitry, or I
will try to share transport within Oregon and meet
the new owner at a prearranged time and destination when
possible.
Meeting along a major highway works well. Some fees
will apply to offset my traveling expenses if I drive one hour
or more (round trip) out of my way.
I will try to arrange to transport a number of rabbits in
one trip in order to reduce everyone's expense. I
am sometimes making trips anyway (sometimes out of
state). Sometimes I will be unable to add things
in due to schedule or family obligations. If there are any extra costs incurred
(e.g. airline fees for shipping, carriers, carryon
of pets, or extra gas expenses, etc.), the purchaser is
responsible for a non refundable pre-payment which I
will use the to make the shipping arrangements. It
costs over $175 to pay airline fees. It costs me about $50 in gas to
drive to Portland, plus four hours of time.
Vet certificates of health cost between $45 and $60
depending on the number of rabbits certified. Then
the crate has to be purchased as well. The
purchaser can work out the details with me through
e-mail or the phone. If I am not contacted
before getting on the road,
no-shows forfeit their
chosen rabbit, and transportation expenses/deposits.
If there is a
significant delay between release date, and actual
pick-up of a reserved rabbit, a room and board fee may apply ($2.50/week).
I will not charge room and board for rabbits under three
months old.
Car Transport- I have had good luck shipping
bunnies with Arba people driving up and down the I-5
corridor for rabbit shows. They generally charge
the purchaser $20-$25 for transport. Beats driving
or air shipping. I require a 50% deposit that
clears the bank before I send the rabbit off. Then
after I receive the rest of the payment, I will then
send off the pedigree.
Guarantee If you are ever in
doubt, please ask questions. Every rabbits
is guaranteed to be in good health when leaving my
care. If a health problem becomes apparent
within one week, I will replace the animal if it's
illness/death was not caused by accident or negligence.
Negligence includes, but is not limited to:
improper feeding, hygiene, or housing, unprotected
exposure to cold or heat, dehydration, exposure to
harassment by other animals or children, allowing animal
to roam house (cord or carpet chewing) or yard (rabbits
don't even have to be attacked by a predator, they have
been known to die just from fright) without direct adult
supervision, etc. If you have a concern about one
of my rabbits, please contact me as soon as possible.
I will gladly be available to help you find the answer
to any questions or concerns you may have regarding angora
care.
